Fighting Global Epidemics with Data

As the world becomes increasingly mobile and connected through travel, outbreaks of dangerous infectious diseases are occurring with growing frequency. These outbreaks - arising from viruses like SARS, Ebola and Zika - are threatening human health, while disrupting businesses and economic activity. When Toronto experienced the SARS epidemic over a decade ago, it cost the city $2 billion dollars and took five years before travelers began returning to Toronto in numbers that they did before the outbreak. We know that diseases today can spread across continents in a matter of hours - what if information could spread faster than disease to save lives and prevent economic disruption? Join us to learn more about how BlueDot's team of fifty people are tackling this global threat using the power of data.
